Senior Service & Installation Technician

Senior Service & Installation Technician

We are seeking a Senior Service & Installation Technician with five to seven years experience in installation and maintenance of security, video surveillance, card access, and fire alarm systems. Our preferred candidate would be factory trained in a major access control system such as Lenel or Honeywell Access. Bosch programming experience is strongly desired.

Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Work with TSG Sales to specify jobs. Assist with job costing and planning.
  • Liaison between customer and TSG Operations.
  • Timely, on budget installations of projects.
  • Field work including panel terminations, programming, start up and testing of security and fire alarm systems.
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and solving systems problems and failures.
  • Ensure work is in accordance with applicable codes and standard practices.
  • Provide system turnover to customers including training.
  • Perform scheduled fire alarm tests and inspections.
  • Provide on site service during and after normal business hours.

Required Qualifications:

  • An Associate’s Degree in Electronics or Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications including SQL. MCSE preferred. Network and OSHA 10 certification a plus.
  • Must have a valid New York state driver’s license, good driving record, and be eligible for security clearance.

Sales Engineer

We are seeking a Sales Engineer to work with a diverse customer base to determine their security needs and develop comprehensive, competitive security system designs based on identified needs including job costing and proposals.

Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Work with new or established customers to determine their security needs by conducting site surveys. Visit on-site with Sales personnel to review, consult and recommend products or services that best meet their needs.
  • Input customer and/or project information into the CRM system.
  • Develop a Plan of Protection that lays out details on the proposal including the design and illustrative graphics.
  • Create detailed job costing with specific parts to implement design.
  • Build job proposal document with accurate pricing and detailed description of work to be performed.
  • Deliver/assist with proposal deliveries.
  • Development of occasional bid requirements – takeoff estimating, job cost estimating, and bid preparation.
  • Identify subcontractors required on specific projects. Communicate with targeted subcontractors the scope of work required, negotiate pricing and execution of contract.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years’ experience installing/servicing security, access control and/or fire systems
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Access, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project)
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math skills with the ability to accurately use a calculator.
  • Basic understanding of Network Infrastructure, Security Technology cable and installation
  • Able to view and comprehend construction blueprints and drawings.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with people face-to-face, via email, in other ways of writing and over the telephone.
  • Must have a valid New York state driver’s license, good driving record, and be eligible for security clearance.

Qualifications to Enhance Candidacy:

  • Proficient with Adobe, Project Management software and other computer software packages.
  • Associates degree in a related field or additional years of experience.
  • Strong desire to learn, grow and take on more responsibility within the organization.
