Case Study: Rochester City School District Replaces Failing Gates
Facing incidents of vandalism and theft, the Rochester NY City School District (RCSD) recently installed new vehicle gates to upgrade parking and perimeter security at the district offices and operating center.
The existing gates were aging and failing more frequently due to corrosion and structural failure. It became increasingly challenging for RCSD to service the gates and obtain spare parts.
RSCD worked with Technical Systems Group (TSG Security) to specify new barrier arm gates for parking lots and sliding gates for perimeter security. As part of the replacement projects, new gate operators were installed. Several key factors emerged as part of the selection process including long-term reliability, smooth and safe gate operation, and connectivity to the existing access control system.
